A Map of The Internet...
For the December issue of our School Newspaper, I illustrated a cartoon depiction of the Internet. The image is quite large, and i've hidden a lot of references and jokes- most placements are well thought out and make sense! Enjoy, see how many references you can find and understand!

The process of drawing the backpage
I started with a pencil drawing, then added black lines, and filled in color. The style is specific for printing, hence the cartoony simplicity! All done in photoshop.
Dear you have earmarked the history. Great work done, I have been searching or indending to make one of the same map. Still there is a huge space to be filled, as the above map is perfect but lot of Socia Media services is missing, (for whole or big picture of Social Media, please visit IA.Com/socialmedia metro line version-4 2008, undoubdtlly you will enjoy a lot as I am enjoying right now).

Thank you very much!! I'm quite glad you like it. Its been done before, but I felt that portraying the internet as a real landscape would do it more justice! Funnily enough, the economist came out with a similar graphic (but not as extensive, i think) on the same day as our newspaper did. The internet is a vast place, every time I look over this image, more and more sites and networks come up that i've forgotten to put in.... perhaps if I make another version, i'll add the updates in!
