And its finished!! Everything is bolted and epoxied together, the indicator lights are all in place, and the program works!
Well, except that it didn't work at first. Having miscalculated the height of the arduino chip, the top pins of the chip were creating a short on the button board.... so, unable to undo the epoxy or bolts, i hacked a hole in the back and cut the offending pins, soldering a wire to bridge the new connection. Its dificult to see the wire in place, but its the dark blue one in the very back. I take it back, this is the most difficult soldering feat i've ever done!
